Modifying Transaction History

Every facility operator understands there are times when a transaction was applied incorrectly and must be altered or even reversed. Self storage software should provide a simple method of reversing transactions or outright removing them from a tenant’s account while maintaining a record for the sake of accountability.

Useful Definitions

Step 1 – Find the Modify Transactions Utility

There are multiple ways to access Modify Transactions. Listed here are three of the most common.

Accessing The  Modify Transactions window through the Unit Workcenter

1. Right-click the unit whose tenant you want to access.
2. Hover over the Financials option.
3. When the second menu appears left-click the Modify Transaction button.

Accessing The  Modify Transactions window through the Tenant Workcenter

1. Right-click on the Tenant whose financials you are trying to modify.
2. Hover your cursor over Financials
3. When the second menu appears left-click Modify Transactions

Accessing The  Modify Transactions window through the Edit Tenant window.

1. If you already have the Tenant’s record open simply click the Mod. Trans. icon that runs along the top of the window.

Step 2 – Selecting the Desired Transaction

The operator must now select the transaction to be reversed or deleted and choose one option to modify it.

1. All transactions will be displayed here, left-click the transaction you would like to modify.
2. Left-click Reverse Charge, Delete Charge, or Non-Sufficient Funds

Step 3 – Confirm the Modification

Once you have selected the transaction you want to modify and chosen whether to reverse or delete the transaction you will need to confirm the modification by left-clicking the confirmation button.
